Ledgent Finance & Accounting is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to support our mission driven nonprofit client's financial operations. The ideal candidate will manage day-to-day accounting functions including accounts payable, payroll processing, expenditure monitoring, invoicing, and assist with month-end and year-end financial close processes. Proficiency with QuickBooks is essential.
Process and manage accounts payable, ensuring timely and accurate payments to vendors.
Manage bi-weekly payroll processing.
Monitor and track organizational expenditures to ensure alignment with budgets and grant requirements.
Prepare and issue invoices to funding partners, donors, or other stakeholders as needed.
Assist in month-end and year-end close activities including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
Support the organization with preparing documentation for audits and financial reviews.
Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records and supporting documentation.
Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
Provide financial data and reports to program managers and leadership as needed.
Recommend and help implement process improvements for greater efficiency and accuracy.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or similar field.
Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a nonprofit environment.
Proficient in QuickBooks (Desktop or Online) and Microsoft Excel.
Strong understanding of GAAP and nonprofit accounting practices.
Experience with payroll systems.
Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Familiarity with grant accounting and fund tracking.
Experience preparing financial reports for grants.
Knowledge of fund accounting principles.
